OAKLEY — The location of the Out of the Darkness Walk, which raises funds to fight against suicide, has moved due to the unhealthy air quality, organizers said.

The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, but due to air quality issues from the Wine Country fires, the Out of the Darkness Walk has moved to the Freedom High School Gym at 1050 Neroly Road.

Money from the 3rd Annual Out of the Darkness Walk in Oakley goes to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, which works to create suicide prevention programs in communities across the country.

The event will still have the same resources, booths, activities and speakers, but the event will be held inside.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the opening ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. The walk will end at 11 a.m.
