Hockey has fallen in love with Brock Boeser.
Many fans would like for the Canucks rookie to be their valentine.
According to a new survey from ticket resale website StubHub, Boeser is the most desired member of Vancouver’s roster, with 11 per cent of hockey fans and a whopping 67 per cent of B.C. hockey fans saying Boeser is the player they would choo-choo choose as their top NHL valentine, or “Stubhubby.”
“It’s no surprise,” said centre Bo Horvat. “He’s known as Prince Charming, he looks exactly like him, so I mean I guess all the ladies are going to love that.
“I think he’s a pretty good-looking kid.”
Erik Gudbranson echoed that.
“He’s a good looking cat,” said the defenceman, who would know, as he’s also a good-looking cat. “He’s funny, he’s got a good personality. He’s gonna make a lot of money in this league. He should be up there – he’s having a great season. Doesn’t shock me.”
Among Canucks, Boeser was followed by defenceman Alex Edler at six per cent and winger Daniel Sedin at five per cent, which certainly raises a few questions. Among them: who the heck were the respondents for this thing? Daniel over Henrik? Henrik has more career points, a bigger forehead and he’s the captain. Does leadership mean nothing to you people?
And how the devastatingly handsome Gudbranson failed to even crack the podium is anybody’s guess. Through two seasons in Vancouver, it’s clear that his rugged good looks are his best asset.
But he can’t score like the 20-year-old Boeser, who leads the Canucks with 26 goals and 48 points, earned a nod to this year’s NHL All-Star Weekend, then went on to win the shooting accuracy contest as well as MVP of the entire event.
