Political commentator and author Ann Coulter is set to speak Tuesday night at a private event in Mountain View, her first Bay Area appearance since a dust-up last spring over a planned speaking engagement at UC-Berkeley that never occurred.

Coulter’s appearance, hosted by The Liberty Forum of Silicon Valley, is being called “In Trump We Trust.” According to the Liberty Forum’s website, the talk will be “a review of the most monumental, paradigm-shattering, vilified presidency in history; what’s been accomplished, what’s left on the table and what Americans can do to ensure the moment is not wasted.

Mountain View police are planning to assign about two dozen police officers for the event, according to ABC7, this newspaper’s media partner.

Coulter told the New York Times the decision to cancel her Berkeley appearance was “a sad day for free speech.”

The Liberty Forum event at 7 p.m., being held at the IFES Portuguese Hall at 432 Stierlin Road, is sold out.

On its website, The Liberty Forum of Silicon Valley bills itself as “the recognized conservative non-partisan umbrella organization in the Bay Area, we are the place for conservatives from Silicon Valley and beyond to gather, share ideas and become empowered.”
