With a home run in the top of the ninth inning, Boston Red Sox second baseman Brock Holt has hit for the cycle against the New York Yankees.
In doing so, Holt became the first hitter in post-season history to accomplish the feat.
Holt’s two-run homer put the Red Sox up 16-1 in a game that was already well out of reach. The 30-year-old finished the game 4-for-6 in the batter’s box, collecting five RBIs in the blowout win.
The Yankees will try to regroup before hosting Game 4 of the ALDS on Tuesday in what will be a must-win game, as New York trails 2-1 in their best-of-five division series against Boston.
