SALT LAKE CITY — Vivint Arena was evacuated shortly after the Utah Jazz game Friday night after a suspicious package was reported in the building.
A lieutenant with the Salt Lake City Police Department said a report of a suspicious shoe box on a restaurant table on the main level of the arena came in about 9:30 p.m.
Bomb-sniffing dogs were then called in and got a hit on the package, according to police.
By about 10:40 p.m., police and bomb technicians were still on scene and said they expected to be there for another hour or longer.
