Thank you, Korea. You have proven that strong differences can be put aside in favor of your citizens and in this case your citizen athletes and their families, friends and countrymen. And that such a favor provides a safe and supportive environment in this example of a United Korea.

I hope the example of unity for the citizens set by the governments of Korea will be adopted by other fractured countries to prove that being united for its citizens brings peace and goodwill to the world.

I also hope that the example set by Korea for this Olympics somehow reunites the word United with the word States in my own country.
