Health Minister Adrian Dix said that the decision to cancel all elective surgeries amidst the COVID-19 pandemic was one of the hardest he's ever had to make.

Health Minister Adrian Dix held out little hope of a quick answer Thursday for thousands of British Columbians whose surgeries are being cancelled daily to keep hospital beds available to treat COVID-19.

Dix said it has been one of the toughest decisions he has ever made but he could provide no time frame on when they would get their operation or even a guarantee they would keep their place in existing lengthy surgical lineups.
