MOUNTAIN VIEW — Two people were injured in a shooting Wednesday afternoon at Rengstorff Park, police said.
Officers were called at about 1 p.m. to the park on the 200 block of South Rengstorff Avenue for reports of gunshots, the Mountain View Police Department said in a news release. They arrived to find two victims suffering from minor injuries.
One victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police said both victims were expected to make full recoveries.
An investigation determined the shooting occurred near the basketball courts, police said.
Officers did not find the shooter, but witnesses described the suspect as a Latino man, 20 to 30 years old and about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slim build, police said. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt and black pants.
Police said they did not have information to share Wednesday about what led to the shooting.
